OIL & GAS

Nevada was home to one of the most prolific oil wells in the continental United States producing up to 4,300 barrels of oil a day in the 1980’s.  This prolific well was located in Railroad Valley in Central Nevada which was a region that produced tens of millions barrels of oil and the entire state has produced around 46 million barrels of oil to date. By traditional drilling methods, Nevada has produced little as of late, but recently there has been increased interest and exploration of the Chainman Shale located in Northeastern and Central Nevada to be extracted by fracking. One such location near Wells, NV currently being worked on by Noble Energy is theorized to produce up to 50 thousand barrels of oil per day revolutionizing the role that Nevada plays in Oil & Gas production.
